QuickBooks - Printing to Doc-It "My Inbox" and Issues with PDF Conversion from QB.
Hello Doc.It Users!
There have been many reports of the Doc.It 4 PDF Printer not playing nice with jobs sent from QuickBooks. Our recommendation is to use the proprietary QuickBooks "Save as PDF" feature and point the output to the Doc.It system directories.
There is a
QuickBooks Print and PDF Repair tool available that seems to address printing to third party PDF Printers, but the solution presented in this article is still a viable solution.
Save a form or report as a PDF file in QuickBooks (may differ with version)
- Display the form or report you want to save as a PDF file.
- Go to the File menu, and then click Save as PDF.
- Select a location (see below for 2 possible locations) to save the file, enter a name for it, then click Save.
There are two path options available when redirecting the output from QuickBooks to Doc.It which I will provide below:
1. This option is the most efficient: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Doc-It4\Doc-ItTemp\FilesToInbox
2. This option is over the network and will require a mapped drive to make it a practical option: \\DOCITSERVERNAME\FileSToArchive\DOCITUSERNAME
