How-To Configure 2FA (two factor authentication) in Doc.It v5

*Please find a 5 minute video attached to this article demonstrating how to configure 2FA for staff users and firm client portal users.

For Staff Members:

From the Doc.It Dashboard, click on Change Password


In the web browser window that opens, have the staff member use their Doc.It credentials to login to the Doc.It Cloud.

Have the staff member click on Update 2FA and follow the on screen instructions.
- Click Configure Authenticator App
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app for your smart phone
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smart phone and click the button to create a new account (this will open the QR code scan camera)
- Once Microsoft Authenticator recognizes the QR code you scanned with the app, it will create the account in the app and ask you to give it a meaningful name 
- Type the 6 digit verification code in the app for your new account into the web browser verify box
- Click verify

For Firm Clients:

Have your client use their web browser to go to https://auth.us.docit.cloud/

In the web browser window that opens, have your client use their Doc.It Portal credentials to login to the Doc.It Cloud.
 
In the following browser window have your client click Manage in the upper right corner



Have your client click on Update 2FA and follow the on screen instructions.
- Click Configure Authenticator App
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app for your smart phone
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smart phone and click the button to create a new account (this will open the QR code scan camera)
- Once Microsoft Authenticator recognizes the QR code you scanned with the app, it will create the account in the app and ask you to give it a meaningful name 
- Type the 6 digit verification code in the app for your new account into the web browser verify box
- Click verify
