Backing up the Doc.It Server (Administrators Only)

There are three considerations when performing a backup of Doc.It data, the Server and the DocIt-Server data folder with its sub folders.

Backup the Server: Doc.It highly recommends that a full Server backup is performed at a minimum once a month if your firm presently does not have a Server backup plan.

Backup the DocIt-Server folder: Doc.It highly recommends that this folder with its contents get backed up once a day. This folder can be found on the root of one of your local Server drives (:\DocIt-Server\), mapped drives are not applicable. This folder contains your Work Documents, Archive Documents and the Doc.It Database.

Backup the WipflowDN.fdb file daily:  Do not rely on the archive flag being raised on this file.  Perform a full backup on this particular file daily. (\Doc-ItServer\Manager)

The Doc.It database is a single file database and can be copied during a running backup. The Database does not contain utilities to manage the data separately such as full backups and full restores.
