There are two ways to create a new Work Binder Template.
1. Create a new template from scratch in which case you have to manual build the folder structure. Follow the instruction below to do so.
a. Login to Doc.It with a user account that has access to the Binder Templates. Most firms will use the Admin account.
b. Open Binder Explorer and go to Saved Searches in the upper left corner of the window. Select Templates from the drop down list.
c. In the Templates window right click anywhere in the grid of other templates and select "Add Binder Template" from the menu.
d. In the "Add Binder Template" window select a Binder Category if applicable and type a name for the new template. Be sure to maintain template naming consistency.
e. Click the Add New Template button. The new template will show up in the list of other template at which time you can open and customize the folder structure and template properties.
2. Create a new template by copying a current template with a like folder structure to be customized.
a. Login to Doc.It with a user account that has access to the Binder Templates. Most firms will use the Admin account.
b. Open Binder Explorer and go to Saved Searches in the upper left corner of the window. Select Templates from the drop down list.
c. Locate the current template that you would like to copy and right click on it. Select "Copy Binder" from the menu.
d. Leave the "*Internal*" client selected without selecting any other client and type a new name for the template. Be sure to maintain template naming consistency.
e. Leave the "New Binder Year" blank. Binder Templates should not have an assigned year.
f. Click the Copy button. The new template will show up in the list of other template at which time you can open and customize the folder structure and template properties.
